Smiler's Bones

By Peter  Lerangis

"In two days, thirty thousand people visit us. They begin to look alike.

I begin to suspect they are the same few, circling around to the back of the line to visit again."

What is This book about?

This book starts out in 1897 in Greenland. The story is about an explorer named Robert Peary coming into a Eskimo village.  In the story, Robert Peary wants to bring six Eskimos to New York City. He tells the Eskimos that he is going to present them to the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. When they arrive at the museum, they soon find out that they are scheduled to be a museum exibit. When they get there, four of the six eskimos die and one of the survivers returns to Greenland (where they were taken from). All of the other Eskimos are gone, except the main character, Minik. This book is his story of "finding truth". This book is available in hardcover and paperback.

Our Reviews:

As a group, we found this book to be a bit confusing. We thought that this book was jumpy and it could sometimes be unclear. This book goes from Minik ( the main character) from living the story, to telling it in his later life. Sometimes this book doesn't tell you when it goes back and forth but it is possible to figure out. This book would be good for people who like to follow a more complex story line and people who are good at following stories. To see some more reviews, check out amazon!
